Starter Deck
Shadow Starter Shell
Stack Shadow bonus and convert it into critical-hit burst before the opponent's defenses come online.
Best for: New players who picked the Shadow starter orb · Applies to patch 1.23 · Editorial starter shell
How to play Shadow Starter Shell
- Keep Shadow Spirit casting every turn — Shadow Breath or Umbral always adds Shadow bonus (+1).
- Use Sinister Charm from Catixy to fish for crits on your attackers.
- Moxilys' Doubleshadow pressures all four enemy cards at once while adding Shadow bonus (+2).
- Focus fire: removing one enemy card cuts their Spamton income and actions immediately.
- Offensive Aim's 50% base crit makes Wandering Feline your closer — protect it with shop passives.
Strengths
- Fastest starter shell
- High crit rates feel explosive
- All-common lineup
Weaknesses
- Low HP across the team
- Falls behind if early aggression fails
- Light resistance walls are awkward
Substitute cards
- Aleera, Nightmare-Eater — Another shadow attacker with a different profile.
- Canine Specter — Extra shadow body while you build your collection.
Tox Shop priorities
Crit and damage Tox first; one defensive Tox on Shadow Spirit keeps the engine running.
Source note: The all-common shadow core that many launch-week players opened with; see the Mono-Shadow Aggression breakdown for match-up detail.
